It was on October 11, 2014 that finally the biggest blogging event of the year was finally pushed through. Numerous brands came together to connect with hundreds of bloggers. Last year was a remarkable one as a first timer but this year was more exciting as more mommy bloggers from our community also attended the event.

Initially, I intended to go first hour of the day but my schedule went crazy and had to do makeshift. So I went late afternoon with the little boy who was also giddy trying out the games on each booth. I must say brands are quite overwhelming this year, as the room occupied was doubled. While there was more than enough room to move around, the number of brands present also increased.

I noticed that there were missing brands from last year but there are alot more that I discovered from this year's event. Some of them were .

The favorite part of the event this year was when we were able to decorate our own donuts courtesy of one of our favorite donut brand, Krispy Kreme! Despite the not-so-rowdy kiddo impatiently waiting in queue, he still got to enjoy decorating his donut.

I wasn't also able to listen to any of the talks this year since I was in a time constraint. So this means I still look forward to (hopefully) next year. Some of the brands ran out of freebies (which I don't mind though), but I still get to learn about their services. Some of them are quite unique like TouchPay APM, Zing Rewards, Lactium, Zap, Niu by Vikings, Look It’s About Me, BrainFit Studio, and My Shopping Box.

Big brands like Canon, Crocs, Flawless, Ace Water Spa, Bioessence, Sample Room, Fukuda, and View Park Hotel. Some of them gave me membership cards that I can use in the future.

There were online contests also which I fail to participate since my not-so-reliable packet data gave me a hard time. But overall, I must say it was yet again a successful event, which was organized by wheninmanila and our awesome planet.

Here's to looking forward to attend again another event next year and hopefully, I will be early this time.
I remember our childhood days when we get to eat pasta only during holidays and when there is a celebration. Cooking pasta or spaghetti before was such a big deal, which requires a lot of preparation. I am glad to know that today, I can have it whenever the kids crave for it and it’s easy!

We can also incorporate dishes whenever you like anytime of the day. In lieu of the National Pasta Month, I am sharing with you one of the easiest was to cook pasta with a touch of Filipino dish.

Here is my Chicken Adobo Penne

Ingredients:
  • Chicken, wings cut in half (you can use any part you like)
  • Chicken Liver (this is optional, I just like my Chicken adobo with liver for added taste)
  • Soy Sauce
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Bay Leaf
  • Garlic, minced
  • Dona Elena, Al Dente Penne Rigate, boiled
  • Dona Elena Olive Oil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Procedure:

  • Cook Penne pasta according to package instructions.
  • Cook your Chicken Adobo. Bring chicken wings to a boil on 3 tbsp of water. Add Soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, pepper and bay leaf. Put the chicken liver and boil for two more minutes. Remove from pan.
  • Using the same pan with the remaining sauce from adobo, add olive oil and minced garlic, sauté for few minutes. Add the boiled penne pasta and sauté for another minute and add salt to taste.
  • Serve, top with chicken adobo and Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!

See how easy it is? I bet you do now. Let me know if you tried this, leave a comment on the comment box.

It’s the holiday season again and believe it or not, time has passed by so quickly that I couldn’t manage to keep up anymore. When “ber” months have started, you will start to hear holiday songs everywhere and people will start decorating their places with holiday trinkets.

My wire bookmark: star, heart and peace sign

But what it is really with Christmas season that makes it worthy? Is it purely by shiny trinkets hanging on the Christmas tree? Or by the endless list of wishlist that needs to be procured before the season? Or by making someone cheer up by sharing a part of us? Either way, we have our way of making it worthwhile. With so many gifts giving during Christmas season here and there, we can opt to do it in our own little way.

Coffee and I have a good relationship ever since I can remember. My day will not be complete without it. When I learned about gift giving journal of Coffee Bean Tea Leaf, I knew I had to attend it. I never knew that my love for coffee can actually realize someone else’s dreams, not to mention help children send to school.

Who will be benefited from this gift giving? The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf creates partnership with various organizations. But more importantly, they were able to create much needed awareness for truly worthy endeavors like Habitat for Humanity and The Real Life Foundation.

The Real Life Foundation’s Executive Director Ms. Lynn Nawata explains how their foundation helps children and what differs them from others as well. They not only send marginalized children to school but they also teach them life lessons which they will need in facing the real world. Not only they send the children to school but also feed them so that children could function at their full potential.

Engr. Ferdie Javier and Ms. Lynn Nawata (Executive Director of The Real Life Foundation)

One of the successful graduates of The Real Life Foundation and now an electrical engineer, Ferdie Javier, was so humbled to talk about how he was empowered to continue his dreams through the help of the foundation. Coming from a marginalized community, he continues to inspire others to continue their dreams.

Walden Chu, CEO of the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, wants to do is to inspire its community and follow their passions, nourish and grow their talents, never stop learning, and foster more meaningful relationships.

[PRESS RELEASE]

Filipinos have relentlessly proven that the concept of bayanihan is still alive today. Every year the Philippines is devastated by numerous typhoons which result to ruined homes and ravaged livelihood. From one calamity to another, Filipinos have made it a tradition to donate and help rehabilitate the lives of the victims.

Sharing with this tradition, Electrolux, a global leader in home appliances, has been collecting and laundering clothes for calamity-stricken survivors for several years now. This year, Electrolux, through its Delightful-E Simple campaign, innovated this long-running advocacy.

Together with Gawad Kalinga’s Trese community, Electrolux will upcycle unusable clothes into quilts for children and new born babies in orphanages and other communities.

“Electrolux believes that there must be dignity in the clothes that we donate. To make sure that every piece of clothing is in good condition, we will sort out the worn out, unwearable ones, then upcycle them into quilts with the help of Trese” said Andrea Pionilla, Electrolux Marketing Manager. “With this partnership, we aim not only to give quilts to children and new born babies but also another source of livelihood for this Payatas community.”

Be a part of this meaningful advocacy by donating some pre-loved clothes. You may drop off your donations in any of these locations:
