More than six years ago, when my eldest was born, we were told by our pedia that he has asthma and that he needs constant nebulization to prevent attacks. He was born via CSection and I will not dread the moment going back and forth to the pedia’s clinic just to be able to get the dose of nebulization with my post partum wound. Imagine the hassle going back and forth and sharing the nebulizer with other sick kids? Don’t get me wrong though, I know they do clean it, but being a medical professional myself, I do not like the idea of cross contamination.

So we decided to get our own nebulizer which is Omron. It was the most sought after and trusted compact nebulizer seven years back. I considered it already handy since those that we used when we were kids was twice as big as a lunch bag, heavier and noisy.

Last Wednesday, I was invited by Omron Health care together with other mommy bloggers and be informed about asthma. The speaker was Dr. Anjanette O. Reyes – De Leon, a pediatrician who imparted her knowledge about asthma, it’s signs and symptoms, underlying causes, and how we are going to prevent and treat it at home.

To further elaborate the need of having a nebulizer at home, please see my blogpost here. But right now, what I will be babbling here is how innovation is really a thing because not only we can own our own nebulizer but, it can be handy and carry it anywhere in our bag! Yes, the newest model of Omron is smaller which you can carry inside your bag. They have developed it to be more effective when delivering medicines through a fine mist via inhalation. It has minimal noise but a lot handier now.

Inhalation for seven years old and below are supposed to be delivered via inhalation through a face mask and over seven years old through T piece in order for the medicines to effectively reach the airways.

What is the proper care of the nebulizer?

After every use, soak the medicine compartment in container with warm water to loosen up the residue inside. This is to prevent further accumulation and clogging of the tubings. Wash it with soap and water and air dry.

The small filter which can be found at the back of the unit must be replaced when it has already discoloration.

Important reminder: Do not poke the unit with any sharp object should it become faulty. Please bring it to the service center immediately or warranty will be voided.

How much is the unit?

For the past two years of our cloth diapering journey, I have tried so many brands that made our stash more than 100 diapers and lost count already. LOL. I was able to try locally made ones and imported diapers.

What I will be reviewing in this post is a locally made diaper brand that is most sought after by a lot of mommies that scoring one is a huge struggle. This diaper brand is non other than Cottonytail.

Cottonytail is hand made with love by seamstress, whom I met personally a year ago at GCDC 2016 event. What made me really curious about this brand is the reason why mommies go crazy over this diaper brand and what really makes this special. So I bought one Qoukka (pocket type), a year ago and went home with one diaper and considered our very first. Now, I didn't understand why I only bought one when I had the chance to buy more because these nappies sell like pancakes.

This brand sells so many different products. They have pockets (Qoukka), Hybrid fitted which comes in two sizes (Zonkey) and training pants (Sprouts) which also comes in different sizes. They also sell inserts and now bags for kids, clothes and many more.

So let us come to what you really need to know why these are also most sought after diaper brand.

Designs. Who wouldn't love their eye-catching and unique designs? They have variety and have limited designs for their nappies.

Soft PUL. Their PUL is unbelievably soft and thin that looks so sturdy.

Soft AWJ (Athletic Wicking Jersey). They use AWJ as inner layer for their diapers and the soft type of fabric.

Insert. Their insert comes with two layers. One snake type bamboo insert that can be folded into two which can become layers of insert and one layer of fleece on top. This insert can last up to 12 hour worth of pee. I know it may not be quite unhygienic as it sounds but it just happened.

Hip Snaps. They have wonderfully designed hip snaps which makes it snug fit to their tummy and legs that prevents leakage.

So what I really do not like about it?

Nothing really. But the only downside to it is the insert that takes longer than usual to dry due to the nature and layers of fabric.

Overall, I will still recommend it to mommies who is in need of diapers for heavy wetter babies. Also, during stocking you will really need fast fingers and internet connection for you to be able to score one from scheduled stockings.

How much one diaper cost? Depends on designs but usually ranges from P1,000 and up.

What about you? What diaper brands have you tried so far?

My skincare routine for the past few months have been so messed up. I have neglected my skin so much that I could see the results of it. It has tiny bumps and sun spots and dry. I have been so busy with being a mom that I forgot my skin needs care too.

Few months after we settled in our new place, I noticed there is unusual skin discoloration on my face and it has become tad darker! It was then that I realized there was something missing in my routine. I do not have a sunscreen! It's weird as it sounds, but I don't put sunscreen because I feel like I have a lot already in my routine.

So I went looking for a sunscreen when I came across this brand at Watson's and they are famous for their make-up line. Without batting an eyelash, I gave it a go because you can never go wrong with Korean products. So here are my thoughts about this product:

  • Lightweight. After application, it is like you didn't put anything at all.
  • Fragrant. That is the main signature of Korean products. It will either smell sooo good or unscented.
  • No flashback. Yep, it doesn't have a whitecast and will not make you look you had too much product on your face.
  • Moisturizing. I have a combination skin so it really helps that my skin is moisturized on some areas where it gets extremely dry.
  • Not sticky. I am so happy that finally I found a sunscreen that is not sticky on the face. It is just like any moisturizers there minus that sticky feeling.
  • Affordable. The price of the product is budget friendly at P230 per tube, even students can afford this.
  • Packaging. Comes in a squeezy tube that you can get most of the products plus it is hygienic.
  • Refreshing. Once you applied it on your face, you will feel that cold feeling that makes you face feeling fresh.
Cons:

There is nothing I can think of but praises to this product. I think I found my holy grail sunscreen product as of the moment.

I highly recommend this to those that are sensitive when it comes scent and product consistency.
