A Letter to Wawa

The Super Momma 1:30 AM 0 Comments
Hey mommy! I know it has been forever since I wrote you a letter. To be exact I guess, more than 20 years already (yikes! I'm old na). Kidding aside, I just missed our simple life way back then when everything was so laid back. Too bad I didn't get to see your reaction now because I stopped writing you letters. Anyway, I don't know if you will be able to read this but I know somehow you will came across this post and hoping by that time you won't just be busy playing your favorite game infront of the the pc.

I would like to say thank you for everything. You have been the best mom one could ask for. You have shown me so much support in everything I do and all my decisions even if you know it's too risky. You have known me for being a risk taker but thank you for letting me be "me" (even if it means you get to argue with dad). Thank you also for the undying understanding. You have been the most patient person I have ever known and somehow I was able to adapt it.

Thank you for standing beside me when things in my life became too complicated and for letting me commit mistakes. Don't worry mom, it all happend for a reason and I learned the hard way. I am so sorry for the frustrations I have given you. How I wish I can take it back but again, it happend for a reason and I learned from it. I know you you told me many times that you always wanted a simple life for me, which I already have, but it won't stop me from dreaming. Someday, the dreams won't just be a dream but will be a realization to us.

I know you don't like things to be complicated and if simplicity is the thing you wanted, mom, you're too overrated. You are the most simple person I have ever known (even if people underestimates you that you can't afford a little luxury for yourself). And yeah, I remember the time you were told that you can't afford a pair of sunnies because it costs more than 10k more than 20years back because you were just wearing baggy shirt, washed jeans and slippers and no make up! You were so mad that in an instant you bought it from the store. Lol.

Btw, mom you are still the best finance officer. I admire you for handling our funds despite your sad stories behind it. I could never do what you did but remember when you used to tell me that I spend much my money? Guess what? I am not like that anymore. You were right when you said it will have a drastic change when you become a mom and that's what happend now. Now I know why you can't even buy new set of wardrobe like you used to. Thank you for the words of wisdom.

This mother's day, I hope that you get to give yourself a little luxury. How I wanted to give it to you but someday I know I will and I can. Advance Happy Mother's Day to us mommy! I love you to the moon and back.

As a parent, I wanted to provide my kids the best in life and that includes material things there is. But it got me thinking, if you bombard them with the material things, the bonding will diminish and they will tend to cling on these gadgets that makes them busy and give them temporary happiness. I am not against the technologies that babysits them while I do my chores but we have to use them with moderation and supervision.

Always remember :  The best things in life are free.

If you have been a follower of my instagram account, probably you came across some of these photos. I would like to share some of her funny photos here.

Made home made pizza and these is how she ate them. After removing the toppings, she placed some on her head. Whew!

She asked for a drumstick and she did was to remove the crust and scatter it on her table.

This is how she eats Gardenia cream roll. Mess all over her face.

Hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I did.

In addition to this, you can't even complain. Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna abandon the kids. It just came to the point where you feel exhausted and you can put the blame on other people other than yourself. #motherhoodwoes

Have a good week ahead mommies!

Election time is near and a lot of mobile campaign units pass by here and there. Proclamation rallies, house to house campaign and all sorts of exposure every candidates will do. Two weeks ago, a proclamation rally was held near our place. Since it was done mid afternoon my kids which was a bout to take a nap, never get the chance to. The little girl was so terrified when the band passed by our place and she was crying like there's no tomorrow. Wawa naman. And everytime a campaign van playing their campaign song pass by our house, A cries.

This morning I went upstairs to get something and again A cried while she was busy playing in her playpen because of a campaign van while LJ was sitting beside her playpen.

LJ : A, top (stop) it cry, mama upters (upstairs). Saying in a soft manner.
A : Still crying.
LJ : A, top (stop) it cry. Mama, upters (upstairs).
A : Intensely crying still.
LJ : Tita! top (stop) dance! ee up! (switch it off). He meant to switch off the radio because A is still crying.

We were having dinner A seated on her high chair and LJ seated beside A when A suddenly cried.

LJ : Oh why cry A? Top (stop) it.
A : Still crying.
LJ : Top (stop) it A cry, mama here. Saying in a soft manner while pointing towards me.

Oh, I am so proud to have a sweet son who looks after her little sister despite being cranky also oftentimes.
What have I been up to lately? I feel like I'm missing my cyberworld already. Anyway, can you feel the intense summer heat? Few days ago, I received our electric bill and I was delighted to see it. Since it is our first month here I had to make sure if I got the correct bill. So I checked the meter number and lo and behold, it was our lowest consumption ever. Amazing!

But today I had the most terrible day ever. I woke up weak and feeble and experiencing crampy abdomen. And since it has been a consecutive weeks of stress and unending domestic duties now I can feel the extreme stress all over me plus the scorching summer heat a very good combination to make me exhausted. Whew! I haven't even finished cleaning and unboxing some of our stuffs and it feels like there are unending things to do. I feel so worthless today despite the errands that needs to be done and the mundane domestic duties. Thank God for inventing air conditioners and for my loving husband who stood by me on my feeble times. But I just felt guilty that he has a lot of backlog works that needs to be accomplished. (So sorry love for taking too much of your time).

Anyway, despite the feeling of weakness and all, I just feel so happy that my 30 month old little boy has made alot of improvement with his vocabulary and I am amazed every time he utters new words. Just this afternoon, he randomly called me mommy and his dad-- daddy. He calls me mama and his dad papa/boboy. He tries to mimic some words but sometimes I could hardly understand the way he pronounce it. He gets frustrated also when he means something but we could hardly understand him. Oh the joys of motherhood is an unending bliss and stress.

How's your weekend everyone?
Went up north with J in one of his out of town trips. The supposed to be 7 hour drive took us almost 10 hours due to some mishaps along the way. Nevertheless, back ache, grumpy kids and the scorching summer heat was all worth it.

The photo didn't turned out the way I wanted but I love how the sunset sets in the window of the Bell Tower in Bantay, Ilocos Sur with my lovely subjects--two boys of my life.

As what I have said in my previous posts, I am gaining a little weight. What caused me to eat a lot was the stress the past weeks from packing stuffs to settling down. I was able to uncover my dress which served as my baseline to my lean body. *ew* Decided to try it on and unconsciously when I was trying to zip the back, my helpful son was very eager to help me zip up the dress.

LJ : Mama, Jojo help zip.
Me : It's okay baby, mama can do it. Still insistent.
LJ : No mama, Jojo help. Finally let him zip my back with difficulty. Oh no mama! Heavy zip. Mama, heavy zip.

Argh! As much as I want my son to stop saying it, I have to admit I NEED to shed off more pounds to be able to fit into my pre-pregnant clothes. That's it. Horrible truth and very frustrating reality.

Summer heat is so intense. It feels like we are inside a sauna in our home. My kids could hardly sleep despite the ac and fan inside our room and they're sweating like crazy even during night time. Grabe ganun ka init ngayon. My little ones who are very hyper active and my major problem during this season is the heat rash! LJ sweats a lot and suffers from heat rash afterwards. The rashes will appear all over his neck, back of his ears and torso followed by a non-stop scratching.

At first I was a bit hesitant to use any kind of powder for him because I was scared that it would trigger his asthma but it was the quick solution to my problem to prevent and stop the heat rash from spreading all over his body.

When I was a kid I remembered my mom used Fissan powder for our rashes too and I must say it was effective for us. Then I tried it on my little boy. Before he slept, I put on some powder on his neck and all over his body. The next day to my surprise all the rashes were gone! Now I use it everyday all over his body and surprisingly he doesn't have any rash at all.

Fissan powder comes with three varieties : the prickly heat powder for heat rash,  diaper rash powder and  deodorant powder for foot. I use the diaper rash powder occasionally for my little girl if she has diaper rash and few hours after application redness disappears quickly.

Tips on how to prevent rashes to your little ones:

  • Less and loose clothing. You can let them wear sleeveless top and/or undies especially if they are just inside the house.
  • Drink lots of fluids. This will help regulate the body temperature and replace the lost fluids and prevent dehydration.
  • Bathe at least twice a day. This will cool off the heat of the body.
  • Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Dry skin thoroughly.
  • Apply prickly heat powder. Note: Ask advice from your pediatrician before doing so.
