Kryptonite

D : Mama, yook! Yook! Eeky spider Mama! Eeky spider!
Me: Where? Okay you wait for Boboy. He will help you.

J : Bakit ako? Alam mo naman sa lahat ng insekto yan ang ayaw ko.
Me : Lalo naman ako! Lahat ng insekto ayaw ko!
J : Anu ba yan!
D : Mama, Boboy! Eeky spider! Help me! Help!

Me : Bilisan mo na kase!
J : Ito na nga!

I have a confession to make. I don’t like insects or any sort of crawling animals. It’s not being donya in any sense but I just didn’t enjoy it during my childhood. My parents were the pessimistic type so having fun under the rain and touching insects was a huge no-no. So I can’t blame myself for being a coward to be near them.

The best thing, J was brave enough to teach the kids about the rest of the animal kingdom but there’s a big BUT about it. He is not a fan of spiders! Ironic eh? It was not his thing though. I think it was the main reason why my son is such a scaredy-cat too. I influenced him too much of my cowardice. Sad Face. On the other hand, I was pretty amazed how brave my little girl is. According to J she got it from her. Okay fine. She’s never scared of any animal, from the dogs, cats and insects. The sight of them makes her giddy. She even let J make the insects touch her skin. (Nakoooo anak, Mama is scared!) It makes my knees shake every time.

Look at her, one brave little girl. If I had that insect on my shirt, you will be deaf by now.

J got these beetle bugs from the resort where we celebrated D's birthday. There were lots of them there. Dodo's slowly getting used to it but every time J's trying to convince him to touch it he would say, "no, put it back." Oh boy.
