BDO Supports MSMEs

The Micro, small scale, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the most challenging hit sector during the pandemic, even if they account for more than 90% of enterprises. They are the backbone of the economy, as MSMEs employ more than 5.3M of our fellow Filipinos.  Governor Benjamin Diokno of the (BSP) Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has stressed the urgency to help Micro Small Medium Enterprises to help sustain their businesses to continue to provide the best essential products and essential services to people each day.  THE OPPORTUNITY Small business owners can now sustain their business operations through the Kabuhayan Loan of BDO Network Bank (BDONB). The MSMEs operating for three years are now qualified to apply for a loan amounting between PHP 30,000 to PHP1 million. They can purchase the needed equipment, buy the required equipment or assets, increase their inventory of stocks, and expand their business in other locations.  A micro-enterprise owner Ernesto Abad, from Los Baños, Laguna

Manage Finances Easily With BDO Pay’s features

Since the pandemic started, most people rely on digital ways of managing things including our finances. I can say that I am one of them due to the fear of making transactions physically. It really helped me because it has never been convenient paying bills, transferring funds, and paying in the grocery. I don’t have to bring cash with me all the time, I just need a few taps on my phone and I am good.

BDO Pay, the digital payment app recently introduced by BDO Unibank, has five key functions—Send Money, Pay Bills, Scan to Pay, Split Bill, and Request Money—that allow clients to easily do banking transactions and manage their finances online.

These features are readily accessible upon downloading the BDO Pay app from Google Play, App Store, or Huawei AppGallery. Using BDO Pay, clients can directly link their BDO account and credit card.

For Send Money, BDO Pay users can send an amount to other BDO Pay users free of charge just by using their phone contacts o
r by typing in the mobile number of the recipient. Other options are sending money to the recipient’s account number or email address.

Pay Bills, meanwhile, allows BDO Pay users to pay their bills to credit cards, telecoms/internet, electric and water utilities, TV/cable, loans, investment, government, and transportation, among others, without the need to enroll them. Clients can use this feature wherever and whenever they need it, and it is also free of charge.

For its part, Scan to Pay enables BDO Pay users to pay various merchants just by scanning their QR code with the users’ mobile phone camera. Payments are reflected in real-time.

With the Split Bill feature, BDO Pay clients can divide group bills with up to five other people and request money in one tap.

BDO Pay users can also Request Money from other users of the digital wallet of up to Php50,000 per person. The person, who was requested money from, will receive a notification from BDO Pay. Once this person accepts the request and sends the money, the receiver will get a notification and a transaction receipt.

BDO expands digital banking channels

BDO, which has the most number of branches and ATMs in the Philippines to date, has been enhancing its technology and security infrastructure to deliver its products and services in a faster, simpler and more secure way for the clients.

It added BDO Pay to its roster of digital banking channels to provide clients an alternative option to do bank transactions and payments without the need to visit a branch.

With the said digital payment app, BDO clients need not move in and out of different apps just to transfer money from one account to another. Moreover, having a digital payment app linked directly to client’s bank account allows the former to save from paying cash-in fees repeatedly.
